Alexithymia is characterised by difficulty in recognising and describing emotions, and is often experienced alongside ADHD. Sometimes, it is only possible to express feelings in terms of the ‘size’ of an emotion, and as an artist, occasionally through colour, tonal value or shapes and motifs.
