£447.00
Acrylic and collage on cradled board. 84 x 59.5 cm (33 x 23 in).
In America, Rosebay Willowherb is called fireweed because it rapidly colonises the sites of forest and field fires. The name is also apt because the light at sunset by the river makes the red-pink inflorescences appear flame like. It provides food for the larvae of the Elephant Hawk-moth and the Bedstraw Hawk-moth.
