Kingfisher

Acrylic and graphite on cradled board. 84 x 59.5 cm (33 x 23 in).

Early morning is a good time to catch glimpses of kingfishers flitting under Wallingford Bridge and along the river. The bright colours of the birds are associated in my mind with the rough sandy texture and curving structure of the bridge as I lean over to follow their flight.
